3 V Spotlight: Vocalism
We write this letter to clarify The Downtown Cleveland Residents Association's position on the tragic shootings on W. 9th a few weeks ago and other media outlets implication that subsidized housing was to blame. As you know, the DCRA is the only officially recognized City of Cleveland community relations board representing Downtown residents.
We want DCRA supporters to know that our organization's position is clear: The DCRA continues to strive to work with Downtown residents and stakeholders alike in the continued growth and development of its residential community. We recognize that affordable housing is a fundamental and welcomed element of residential development and neighborhood progress. The safe and enjoyable utilization of our neighborhood for all backgrounds and incomes is of the utmost importance to us and we are dedicated to every single resident regardless of race, creed, background, or situation. We welcome all those who chose to respectfully live, work, play, and learn here.
We would also like to commend the Archer for the steps they have taken since opening their doors to be an instrumental part of this community, as well as the attention and outreach they have given their tenants since the incident.
We thank you for your continued support and hope you will continue to help us move forward in making the Downtown neighborhood enjoyable and welcoming to everyone.
