DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIONCALLS FOR DOWNTOWN WALKING AUDIT
With national media attention focused on Cleveland, and as more people call downtown home, damaged infrastructure and blighted private property in the downtown neighborhood are issues in need of an organized answer. In response, representatives from the Downtown Cleveland Residents Association, Councilman Cimperman's office, the City of Cleveland Planning Commission, and the Historic Warehouse District, will be organizing a walking audit to inventory these nuisance issues that need to be addressed and identify responsible parties to correct these issues. Maintenance of City owned property, such as cracked curbs and damaged sidewalks as well as maintenance of private property, such as illegal signage and other cosmetic issues such as necessary painting and cleaning, will be prioritized for attention by the appropriate responsible party.
- Date: August 6th
- Time: 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
- Meet up: we will start the walking audit in front of Constantino’s Market in the Warehouse District
This walking audit moves forward and expands upon an audit conducted by the Warehouse District in July of 2103 where many of these issues were identified on Prospect Avenue. We welcome volunteers to participate and are actively soliciting some creative ideas from our participants to enhance the living experience for all downtown stakeholders.
Founded in October 2010 and recognized by the City of Cleveland as a Community Relation’s Board to lessen neighborhood tensions, the Downtown Cleveland Residents Association is a non-profit neighborhood association dedicated to promoting downtown Cleveland as viable place to live, learn, work and play. Open to any member of the downtown community, we connect people through social events and volunteer opportunities that promote our community, we inform our members of the latest issues and developments within the city, and we advocate for the issues that help improve the quality of life in our city’s center.
