Exchanges: Sugar Strike
Presented by the Global Center for Health Innovation and the
CWRU Dittrick Medical History Center and Museum
Join us Monday, October 17 for "Sugar Strike," a short presentation by author, historian and TEDx speaker Brandy Schillace, PhD, as she leads a discussion on diabetes, a disease that affects more than 29 million Americans. We now consider diabetes a treatable disease, with the discovery of insulin in 1921. Yet, before insulin, diabetes was largely untreatable and life threatening for children and adults. This program will explore diabetes past and have us looking toward the future of treatment. Joining Dr. Schillace for this program will be a panel of experts who will help us understand the latest therapies and treatments for both juvenile and adult onset diabetes.
Networking with refreshments will begin at 5:30 pm, in the Welcome Center, sponsored by Vitamix. The program will start at 6:00 pm and will finish around 7:30 pm. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
